4v4 plus joker for finishing
A high-tempo game in a small area that produces a lot of shots on goal and a lot of rebounds.
Aim
Give players a high number of scoring chances, with the focus on being ready for the rebound. Players learn to spot the chance to shoot quickly and to react at once to rebounds for a second finish.
How it runs
Because of the pitch size and the setup, the player on the ball often has room to shoot. The player has to see it and act fast. The focus is on initiative, quick decisions and following the ball after the shot.
Setup
- Pitch size: 20 x 15 meters
- Play with goals and goalkeepers
- Add a neutral player (joker) to give the team on the ball a numerical advantage
- Two equal teams, plus the joker
Coaching points
- Look for the shot quickly and spot the open moment
- Follow the shot and go for the rebound without hesitating
- Decide between the shot and the pass, depending on the situation
- High intensity, with quick reactions and sharp transitions
- Shooting accuracy: a quality shot, not only a shot
