Unit work: defense, midfield and attack
An attacking exercise split into three units and three zones of the pitch. Each line works on its own role and on how it connects to the others.

Aim
Strengthen coordination and timing between the lines of the team, deepen the tactical understanding of building an attack, and connect what each player knows about the role to the way the team wants to play.
How it runs
The exercise is split into three units (defense, midfield and attack) and three zones of the pitch. The goal is quick and correct positioning in line with the game model, either building an organized attack from the back or moving quickly from a small space to a big one.
- The back line works on defensive positioning in relation to the ball, holding the line, coordination between center backs and fullbacks, and moving as one unit
- The midfield unit practices transition moments and creating an advantage in the center, carrying the ball forward and finishing on goal after a well-timed supporting run
- Forwards and wide players work on runs in behind, timing the entry into the box, quality crosses from wide and different finishes in the box
Setup
- Divide the pitch into 3 zones: defensive third, middle third, attacking third
- 3 groups by unit: defense, midfield, attack
- Each unit works on the principles of its role within the team structure
- The coaching staff are split by line
